In the below video I will walk you through setting up your Access Groups in your Kisi account including the best restrictions to use.

Create Your Access Groups

  1. Navigate to your organization dashboard, and click on Groups

  2. Click on Add a group

  3. Define the name for your group and click Add

  4. Select the Doors tab and add the doors you want to grant access to.

  5. Select the Permissions tab and set the restrictions you want on the group

You need to create at least two access groups if you have memberships & take bookings. Even if the access is for the same door. The same access group cannot be assigned to both memberships & facilities (the facilities setting is for bookings).

A standard club will have at least 3 access groups:

  • Membership Access → Provide certain door access to current members

  • Booking Access → Provide certain door access only for classes or appointments

  • Staff Access → Provide certain door access for staff (perhaps different hours than membership access)

For example, you might have a daytime members access group given to regular members. You might also provide access to the facility for bookings. In this case the “Daytime members access” group would be assigned to the membership, and the “Bookings access” group would be assigned to the facility.

This allows proper access for both daytime members, and those taking bookings (whether they are daytime members or not). Note you will still need a separate booking access group, even if your members have 24/7 access, if you want to provide booking based access to anyone.
