Take Contactless Payments With a Card Terminal

Take in-person card payments on a Stripe card terminal ordered through Gymflow and linked to your checkout.

A card terminal ordered through Gymflow is registered to your club and linked directly to your checkout. When you take a payment on the terminal, the sale, invoice and reports are all updated automatically.

Take a payment on the terminal

  1. Sell something from the Staff Portal as normal.

  2. At the payment step, select the Terminal tab. It appears alongside Online and In Person.

  3. Choose a reader from Select terminal reader. Readers show as Online or Offline, and only an online reader can be selected.

  4. Confirm the sale. Gymflow sends the amount to the reader and shows a Waiting For Payment screen.

  5. The member pays on the terminal.

  6. The screen confirms the payment and the invoice is marked as paid.

How members can pay

  • Contactless: tap a credit or debit card, or pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay from a phone or watch.

  • Chip and PIN: insert the card and enter a PIN for cards that need it.

What can be paid on a terminal

  • Credit packs, products and pre-paid memberships can all be paid on the terminal.

  • Recurring memberships cannot. A card tapped or inserted on a terminal cannot be saved for future billing, so recurring memberships still need a stored card or direct debit.
